Every city has a story. Most of it never gets told.
A Collective Narrative is a 7 km public art installation winding through the heart of Vaudreuil-Dorion — a guided walking trail that passes through the city's parks, landmarks, historic streets, and everyday gathering places. Along the route, 12 large interactive columns bring the community's own stories to life. One shares local recipes. Another posts neighborhood news. A third connects parents looking for playdates, or residents searching for a place to rent.
The columns are more than public art — they are gathering spots. Places to sit, to read, to talk, and to find your way. At night they light the path. Every day they remind people that a city is only as alive as the conversations happening in it.
Rooted in the history and character of Vaudreuil-Dorion — from City Hall and St. Michel Church to the shops of St. Charles Street and the bike path along Rue des Cheneux — the installation asks a simple question: what would you share with your neighbors if you had the chance?
